2008 MSV White Coat Days MSV’s White Coat Days will ensure the daily presence of physicians at the Capitol and give physicians the opportunity to tell their legislators about the challenges facing Virginia’s health care system. Each MSV district will be assigned two days during the 45-day session on which to travel to Richmond to lobby their legislators. Daily Agenda 8:15 am: Participants should arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. at the MSV White Coats "home base" at the Commonwealth Park Suites Hotel located directly across from the state Capitol at: 901 Bank Street (corner of Bank & 9th Streets) Richmond, VA 232919 1-888-343-7301 or 804-343-7300 Participants will be briefed by MSV lobbyists and provided briefing material on key issues and legislation. If participants want to visit with their legislators, MSV strongly encourages them to make their own appointments before coming to Richmond. Also, please bring your white coats to wear while lobbying and bring 50 or more business cards to hand out to legislators and/or their aides. Noon: Physicians will return to the hotel for a complimentary box lunch. MSV staff will record feedback from the morning's lobbying efforts. Bus Drop-Off and Individual Parking: Buses will be allowed to pull up in front of the hotel on Bank Street and drop off the physicians who will be directed to their own private entrance (on 9th Street) into the hotel. For doctors who plan to drive themselves, Commonwealth Park Suites will provide valet parking for $15.
